In my current role as a practicum student, I am offering reduced rate counselling while under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist.
I have a background in clinical psychology with graduate level-training in psychological assessment and more than 10 years’ experience as a psychometrist. Throughout my career I have worked with a diverse client base including children, adolescents, and adults. I consider the incorporation of counselling into my practice as a natural extension of my passion for all types of psychology.
My approach to counselling is a collaborative one that positions you as the expert in your own life. I honour your unique lived experiences and respect all the holistic elements that make you the person you are. I am committed to creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space where we can work together towards your desired goals.
Cultural and identity considerations are also a very important element of my practice: as a woman from the Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour [BIPOC] community, I know the importance of finding your voice and your power. If you would like to incorporate this into our work, I am ready to explore this with you.
I understand that seeking counselling is an incredibly meaningful step for your mental health. If you choose to embark on your journey with me, you can expect warmth, compassion, authenticity, a healthy dose of curiosity and even a little humour when appropriate. I look forward to meeting you and taking those first steps together.
