Abby MacLean

Registered Provisional Psychologist

Being your therapist is a task that I don't take lightly and my goal is to create a space where you can show up as your authentic self and feel truly seen, supported, and understood. I believe that growth happens through connection, self-awareness, and compassion, and therefore I too aim to bring my most authentic, present self and offer curiosity and respect in each of our sessions. In our work together, I aim to meet you where you are, helping you build insight, resilience, and practical tools for navigating life’s challenges.

In my past experiences, I’ve had the privilege of building therapeutic relationships with children, teens, and young adults from all walks of life, including those involved with Children and Family Services and within Indigenous communities. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the strength and resilience of young people, along with valuable insight into supporting their emotional and social well-being.

Every person is unique, and I aim to honor that individuality in my approach to therapy. Together, we’ll explore your experiences and work toward your goals at a pace that feels right for you. My work is guided by a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy.
