My name is Toby John, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist specializing in couples counselling, sports psychology, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. I believe that effective treatment begins with a strong therapeutic relationship between the client and the therapist. As your therapist, I am committed to walking alongside you on your journey, providing a safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings: I offer individual therapy for a range of issues, including emotional and physical abuse, sexual and intimacy issues, anger management, self-esteem, family dynamics, marital, and relationship problems.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, working with you to set achievable goals. I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), and Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBT) to support your growth and well-being. Additionally, I incorporate traits such as openness, optimism, empathy, commitment, and humour to create an environment that encourages growth and resilience. Finally, I am well versed in a variety of different cultural backgrounds, allowing for a deeper understanding for diversity.
